Slipknot ha estado en el estudio sacando un nuevo álbum durante el año pasado. Según el vocalista Corey Taylor en una entrevista con The Eddie Trunk Podcast, está casi terminada y solo necesita componer algunas canciones más. Taylor luego continúa revelando que Slipknot lanzará un nuevo single ‘en el próximo mes más o menos’ antes de anunciar el disco.
«En realidad, está bastante hecho. Yo diría que probablemente está hecho en un ochenta por ciento. Estamos terminando algo de música, y tengo un par de canciones más para cantar. Sin embargo, diré esto: No se sorprenda si en el próximo mes escucha algo nuevo’.
Cuando se le preguntó cómo sonará el single, Taylor dijo que es más bien un tipo de ‘vamos a aporrear a todo el mundo y recordarles por qué seguimos siendo Slipknot’. Taylor agregó: ‘El sencillo será parte del nuevo álbum y recordará a la gente por qué aman a Slipknot’.
Taylor también intervino anteriormente sobre el nuevo material, diciendo: ‘El nuevo material me hizo empezar a pensar fuera de mi propia caja y desafiarme a mí mismo’. El nuevo álbum será el último trabajo de Slipknot para Roadrunner, y la banda espera tenerlo a la venta para fin de año .
Slipknot está actualmente de gira con Killswitch Engage , Fever 333 y Code Orange .
